The hunt nears its end; on the limits of the kingdom of Nemedia, Conan picks up the trail of Skuthus, the sorcerer he has pursued relentlessly since Numalia.

Hailing from Stygia, the fearsome necromancer has failed in his attempt to eliminate Kalanthes, a priest of Ibis devoted to fighting the cult of the archdemon Set. Skuthus underestimated the tenacity of the mercenaries tasked with protecting the priest. Kalanthes, wounded but alive, remains in Numalia.

Taking refuge in the remains of a village he has eradicated using black magic, Skuthus focuses on rebuilding his forces to face his pursuers. He cannot disappoint his mentor a second time, as Thoth-Amon, High Priest of Set, is counting on him to terminate Kalanthes, his mortal enemy.

As the door bursts off its hinges under the weight of the Cimmerian’s blow, the sorcerer begins a strange, guttural chant. As the air begins to buzz around him, he laughs cruelly, confident that soon nothing will stand between him and Kalanthes.

Objective

To win the game, the Heroes must kill Skuthus before the end of turn 8.

Setup

The game starts with the Heroes’ turn.

After setup, each Hero moves 4 gems from their Reserve zone to their Fatigue zone.

Asset Deck

Chests require a simple Manipulation to open. The Asset deck contains: Life Potion x2, Javelin x 2, Chain Mail, Crossbow, Shield, Sword

Event

Reinforcements: Reinforce 1 colorless Mummy in each reinforcement area . If there are not enough available for all 3 locations, the players may distribute them as evenly as possible in the reinforcement areas that benefit them the most. Then do the same for the Skeletons. Finally, reinforce 1 blue Mummy in the area with Skuthus.

Special Rules

Game Board Rules: Standard game board rules apply, including the Bar area rule.

Slippery Sorcerer: Skuthus does not activate. He has the spells Set’s Halo and Pestilential Swarm. Skuthus casts Pestilential Swarm every time a Hero enters his area.

Set’s Halo is always active. In addition to its normal effect, Set’s Halo gives Skuthus a protective shield that prevents him from taking more than 2 damage from any attack.

Whenever Skuthus suffers damage, he teleports to another room. Determine which room by performing the following steps:

  1. Determine the floor where Skuthus will teleport.
Skuthus will teleport to the floor with the fewest number of Heroes. If it’s a tie, he teleports to the floor he is not currently on. Consider stair areas as upstairs for this determination.
  2. Determine the room where Skuthus will teleport.
Roll (no rerolls allowed). Skuthus teleports to the room number that matches the result. Skuthus cannot remain in the same room, repeat step 2 if this would occur.
  3. Summon a protector.
Teleport the blue Mummy closest to Skuthus into the room with him. Ignore obstacles and elevation levels when determing the closest Mummy. If there are none on the game board, reinforce one in the reinforcement area closest to Skuthus and then move it to the room with Skuthus.

The Shambling Dead: Unless their Target Hero is on the bar, Mummies and Skeletons will not move up onto the bar. They will walk around.

Dark Demon: The Dark Demon targets the Strongest Hero.

Doors: The door with the red border requires a complex Manipulation with a difficulty of 5 to open. The other doors require a complex Manipulation with a difficulty of 2 or Wall Wrecker to open. Overlord units can move through the other doors as if they were a border. If they do, remove the door from the game board.
